The beginning of the month is sort of like a fresh start, and the perfect time to set the month up for success. To do this, there are some things you can do to help the month go smoothly.
Life is crazy right now for many of us, and it can be hard to keep track of everything that’s going on. By doing a few things at the beginning of each month, you’ll be more organized and ready to take on any challenges that may arise.
These are all things that I personally do that have a huge impact on my work and personal life and happiness. I have been more motivated, productive and organized since starting these tasks.
What You Should Do Every Month
1. Set New Goals

The beginning of the month is the best time to set new goals for yourself that you would like to accomplish or work on that month. It can be helpful to reflect on the past month and see what you would like to improve or work on more.
Your goals can be personal, financial, educational, or really anything you can come up with. It’s also helpful to think about how you are going to accomplish those goals and come up with a plan for the month.

2. Declutter
I don’t know about y’all, but my house gets cluttered so easily, and when it is I notice that it gets overwhelming to deal with. So, for the past few months I’ve dedicated some time each month to declutter something. And it’s made a huge difference in my motivation and work!
You don’t have to declutter your whole house in a day, because that’s very overwhelming. Start by decluttering a certain room, or even just decluttering your desk.
Chances are you will feel accomplished and motivated and continue onto another room.
3. Plan Your Month

Now is the best time to keep track of any meetings, events or appointments you have throughout the month. I like to use my phone or a planner to plan everything out. This will help you stay organized and help you be more productive throughout the month.
4. Clean Your Fridge
Have you ever gotten something out of the fridge to eat only to find out it expired a few months ago? If you take the time to clean your fridge, you’ll declutter and make sure everything in your fridge is fresh.
Throw away anything expired or any leftovers you know you’re not going to eat. You can even take everything out and give your fridge a good wipe down. I also recommend organizing your fridge while you’re at it.
5. Meal Plan
I love meal planning! It makes each day so much easier when you have a plan. At dinner time, instead of wondering “what the heck am I going to make?” you know exactly what to make and you know you’ll have all the ingredients for it.
Too often I have thought of something to make only to find out that I don’t have the ingredients to make it. So frustrating!
Meal planning will save you time, money and energy. I recommend looking through Pinterest for ideas, and plan out your meals, at least for the week. But you can do the whole month as well! You’ll be amazed at how easy meal planning is.
