I think we can all agree that staying home recently has completely changed our beauty routine. Since being at home more, I have come up with ways to keep my beauty routine, but doing it in the comfort of my own home! These have become my favorite at home beauty treatments lately. Plus, they are so much cheaper than getting it done at a salon or spa. It’s a win-win!
1. DIY Dip Nails At Home
I used to get my nails done at the salon every 2 weeks, and when my nail salons closed down, I was left with insanely grown out dip nails. I love having my nails done and I find getting them done so relaxing! So, I was super upset when I wasn’t going to be able to get them done for a while.
Enter, dip nail kits. They’re designed for anyone to do their dip nails at home! And the best part? The cost of the kit is about the price of getting one manicure done at a salon! And the kit will last you forever. You can get over 20 manicures out of dip nail kits!
It does take some practice at first. Let’s just say my first few dip nail manicures were atrocious. But, I’ve gotten so much better at them and I don’t think I will ever go back to the salon.
2. At Home Laser Hair Removal
Yes, you can do laser hair removal at home and it’s perfectly safe and effective. Plus, fall and winter is the best time to start at home laser hair removal. Come spring and summer you’ll be hairless and won’t have to worry about shaving.
The at home laser hair removal devices can be on the pricey side, but it’s a fraction of the cost of what it would be if you went and got it done at a spa.
3. At Home Chemical Peel
I’ve been doing at home chemical peels for years now. And yes, they are completely safe! There are so many well formulated at home chemical peels even for the most sensitive skin types.
Chemical peels are essential a very strong chemical exfoliant that you leave on for a few minutes and then rinse off. They typically have BHA, AHA retinol, or a combination of different exfoliants.
At home chemical peels are great for acne, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, evening and brightening skin tone and improving skin texture.
4. Brow Tint
Before getting microblading done, I used to tint my eyebrows to help them appear thicker. It takes less than 10 minutes and gives great results! I will say this works best if you have a good amount of brow hair. My brows are really sparse, so this helped them appear thicker.
It’s also a great choice for those who dye their hair and want their eyebrows to match their hair.
5. At Home Dermaplaning
I’m sure you have heard of dermaplaning, as it’s taken over the beauty industry lately. If not, it’s essentially shaving your face. Dermaplaning removes peach fuzz and dead skin cells so your skin is smoother.
Dermaplaning can help your skincare products absorb better and it will also help your makeup look smoother.
I recommend watching some Youtube videos, but it’s super easy to do and your skin will feel so smooth and soft afterwards. You’ll be hooked!
This is a great thing to add to an at home spa day routine for ultimate pampering.
6. At Home Foot Peel
If you’ve never done a foot peel, you should. It’s essentially like a chemical peel, but for your feet. The kit will come with the peeling solution and little foot bags. You’ll put the bags over your feet, pour in the peel and then leave it on for a little bit,
In the coming days, your feet will peel (like a lot). But when it’s done, your feet will be smooth and soft and any callouses will be gone! Foot peels work amazingly well, but the process isn’t always convenient.
Your feet will peel a lot, like you won’t be able to wear flip flops or any shoes that show your feet. You’ll also need to wear socks a lot, otherwise you’ll leave dead skin everywhere.
7. At Home Teeth Whitening
I have been whitening my teeth at home for years and have seen amazing results! As a coffee and wine drinker, I am always doing everything I can to keep my pearly whites in shape.
I also have sensitive teeth, so I have to be careful with whitening them. I love Crest whitestrips for gentle whitening. You’ll see results in just a few days, and typically only need to leave them on for 30 minutes or so each day. These are so convenient to use. They’re just thin strips you apply over your teeth and once they’re on you can’t even tell they’re there!
I also have been using a professional teeth whitening kit off of Amazon that works so well. It also comes with a remineralization gel to apply afterwards to help with any sensitivity, and let me tell you, it’s a game changer! The only thing I don’t like about it is the tray you have to use – it’s big, clunky and uncomfortable to wear. Of course, it’s only for a little while, but still.
8. At Home Light Therapy
LED light therapy can be used to help with acne, stimulate collagen and calm skin redness. Light therapy has best results when it’s done regularly. And depending on your concerns, you will need a specific device.
For acne, blue light therapy kill acne causing bacteria. Red-light therapy is great for inducing collagen production. Yellow light can help with redness. Typically you will use the device for a few minutes each day, but each device will have it’s own instructions you should follow.
At home LED light therapy is the exact same as the light therapy you would get at the spa or with your facial. They are proven to help with certain skin concerns and are a great way to make some improvements in your skin.
