There’s just something about that cool & crisp fall air that makes me want to do all the fun fall self care activities I can think of. Fall is the perfect time to spend a little extra time practicing self care and enjoying the season while you’re at it. These cozy fall self care ideas are perfect for those days when you want to get out and enjoy the scenery, or stay inside and keep warm.
Here in Tennessee, we’ve got awhile before we actually see some decent fall weather, but that doesn’t keep me from dreaming about all the cozy self care activities I’m going to be doing this season.
Cozy Fall Self Care Activities

Now let’s jump right in and get ready for those cozy fall nights full of self care! Next time you find yourself on a chilly fall day, try out some of these self care ideas that are perfect for cooler weather.
1. Create A Cozy Atmosphere

Fall is the coziest time of year, so I always love to make my house even cozier during the fall seasons. Candles, fairy lights or any light that creates that warm, amber glow that mimics a fireplace. Get some fluffy pillows and chunky blankets and you’ve got yourself an ultra cozy space to relax in.
2. Light A Fall Candle
I love candles, especially fall inspired candles and anything with pumpkin. There’s nothing better than having your whole house smell like pumpkin waffles on a chilly day.
3. Knit A Blanket
Trying out a new hobby is a great way to practice self care, and you can make yourself a chunky knit blanket while you’re at it!
4. Take A Walk

Fall is the perfect time to bundle up, grab some hot chocolate or apple cider in a mug and take a walk and enjoy the beautiful fall leaves.
5. Go For A Drive
If walking isn’t your thing, you can admire the fall foliage from the comfort (and warmth!) of your care. Take a scenic drive and see all the leaves in their prettiest colors.
6. Hot Chocolate Bar
Make some homemade hot chocolate, complete with all the toppings to really indulge. Bonus points if you invite some friends over to join in on the fun.
7. Bake Something Yummy

Baking is one of my favorite hobbies and I always look forward to fall when I can bake pumpkin and apple treats! (I’ve actually got a pumpkin cake baking in the oven right now).
8. Have A Halloween Movie Night
Take the night off from social media and any plans, make some popcorn and hot chocolate or apple cider and have a halloween movie marathon.
9. Make Some Soup
There’s not much better than a warm bowl of soup on a fall day! I love doing soups in the crockpot and having them to warm up to at dinner time.
10. Have A Bonfire
Invite some friends over to gather round a bonfire and enjoy the company. You can even use a fire pit if you don’t have anywhere to have a bonfire.
11. Roast S’mores
Is there anything better than a s’more? Build a fire and roast some marshmallows and create the ultimate s’more! You can also do s’mores in the oven if you don’t live anywhere you can make a fire or have a fire pit.
12. Knit A Scarf
I love wearing scarves when it’s chilly outside! Especially those fluffy ones you can cuddle up into. Practice knitting and create your own chunky knit scarf!
13. Read A Mystery Book

I love mysteries and suspense novels anyway, but they’re always so much better during the fall season! Pick up a new mystery book that sounds interesting to you and get to reading.
14. Start A New Show
For me, fall means having more cozy nights inside, so I need a good show to watch. I always end up watching more tv during the fall and winter. It’s so nice to cuddle up with a warm blanket and a good show after a long day.
15. Have A Cozy Weekend Away
Go up to your nearest mountains or have a staycation in a cozy little Airbnb. Enjoy the scenery and take some time to unplug and unwind.
16. Take A Bath
A warm bath is perfect on a cold and crisp fall night. Light some pumpkin scented candles and relax.
17. Go Stargazing
Stargazing is always so much fun! Especially when you bundle up and take some hot chocolate or apple cider to sip on.
18. Make A Fall Wreath
If you’re a little crafty like me, hop on Pinterest and find a cute fall wreath to make. I love doing crafts and making DIY home decor. It’s fun and makes you feel good that you can create something so pretty.
19. Decorate For Halloween or Fall
Fall and Halloween decorations always make me feel so cozy and relaxed! I love walking into a fall decorated house after a long day.
20. Make A Fall Bouquet

Pick fresh flowers or go to Hobby Lobby and buy some artificial flowers to create a stunning fall flower arrangement. Sunflowers, roses, mums and pansies are great choices. But really anything you like in a gorgeous fall color will work!
21. Go Apple Picking

Put on a cute and cozy fall outfit and find the nearest apple picking farm. Bonus points if they have fresh apple cider available! Then you can take your apples home and eat them or bake them into yummy fall treats.
What are your favorite cozy fall self care activities? Fall is the best time to have a cozy night in or get out and enjoy the beautiful fall leaves and colors! Fall is definitely my favorite season and I always cherish these special times when I get to do my favorite self care activities.
