There’s nothing better than slipping into a hot, relaxing bubble bath after a long day. Friday night’s are my favorite time to take a relaxing bath and recover from a busy and stressful week.
After a hot bath, you will feel relaxed and recharged. And there’s no better way to start your weekend off! So, let’s turn your bathroom into your own at home private spa and take that relaxing bath.
1. DIY Bath Caddy
Gather up all your stuff before heading into the bathroom. Make sure you grab some candles, a book, essential oils and anything else you want to take with you to relax in the bath. You can put everything on your bath caddy so it will be right within reach.
2. Essential Oils
Essential oils are my favorite way to create the most amazing and relaxing bath. I love lavender and chamomile essential oils to help me unwind. I just add a few drops of each oil into my bath water and the room instantly smells like lavender. You can also use candles or bath soaks with essential oils for the same effect.

3. Get The Right Temperature
Making sure the water is the right temperature is the key to the perfect, relaxing bath. If it’s too hot you’ll be sweating and have to get out in 10 minutes. Too cold and you’ll constantly be adding warm water and not be able to relax.
4. Turn Off The Lights
Dim the lights and let the candles light the room. The dim lights will create a relaxing and calm environment perfect for unwinding after a long week.
5. Light Some Candles
You can go with scented or unscented candles, depending on your preference. The candles create the most gorgeous lighting. Place your candles on the edge of the tub and sit back and enjoy.
6. Have A Drink
Whether your go-to is a beer, glass of wine or a strong margarita, pour yourself your favorite drink to help yourself relax. There’s nothing better than a good drink in the bath.
7. Face Mask
Might as well go all out and pamper yourself! Put on a hydrating or clay face mask during your bath. Face masks always help me relax my facial muscles when I’m tense and stressed.
8. Add Something Extra
The bath product market has exploded, and I for one, am so thankful. I love to treat myself to a new bath product! These are my favorite things to add to a bath:
- Essential oils
- Moisturizing oils (sweet almond oil, jojoba oil)
- Bath bombs
- Bath melts
- Herbs (rosemary, jasmine, lavender)
- Bubble bath
- Milk bath
- Oatmeal bath
9. Turn On Some Music
Put on some relaxing music to help you unwind. You could even add some white noise, like a thunderstorm or ocean waves. Anything that you find relaxing will work!
10. Put Your Phone Out Of Reach
This is my biggest tip for a relaxing bath! There’s nothing that will ruin your bath more than having your phone blow up or scrolling through your drama-filled social media feeds. Take a break from your phone and relax with a good book or silence instead.
11. Moisturize Afterwards
Moisturizing after a shower or bath is the best thing you can do for your skin. The moisturizer will trap the water in your skin and will be even more effective.
12. Put On A Fluffy Robe
Once you’re ready to get out, put on a cozy robe. You can either lounge around in your robe for the rest of the evening or change into your comfiest pj’s.
And that’s all you need to create an insanely relaxing bath! Trust me, if you do this once, you’ll be taking baths a lot more often. After a stressful week, a relaxing bath is all I look forward to sometimes.
