Drmtlgy, the brand’s take on the word dermatology, is a skincare brand that is quickly gaining popularity. But is drmtlgy worth it or is it just another influencer gimmick? Many people rave about the Drmtlgy Needle-less Serum, Vitamin C Serum and also their tinted sunscreen. As a skincare blogger, I had to see what all the hype was about. I’ve been using the serum for a couple months now, so here’s my Drmtlgy Needle-less serum review.
I’ll be honest, I’m not usually one to fall into the trap of those Facebook ads, but the Drmtlgy one got to me. I kept seeing it over and over and their claim of an alternative to botox and fillers was intriguing to me.
So, I finally caved and bought the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum and the Vitamin C, E & F serum. Which, by the way, is an awesome Skinceuticals CE Ferulic dupe!
Is Drmtlgy A Good Brand?
Drmtlgy is a great skincare brand that sells a wide range of skincare products. Their main focus is on acne and anti-aging skincare, but most of their products will work for any skin type or skin concern.

All of their products are packed with well-researched, effective ingredients. So good, in fact, they could be considered medical grade, but without the price tag. Although their products are priced on the higher end, it’s a steal when it comes to the quality of product you are getting.
What Does Drmtlgy Needle-less Serum Do?
The Needle-less serum is Drmtlgy’s best-selling product that claims to target fine lines and hydrate skin. Ingredients in the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum can help with hydration, large pores, dehydrated skin, fine lines and dark spots.
The Needle-less serum will help to boost collagen production, diminish fine lines, brighten and hydrate skin.
The big claim is that this serum can act as alternative to botox and fillers. That’s a huge claim. Can it really live up to that?
How Do You Use Drmtlgy Needle-less Serum?
The Drmtlgy Needle-less serum should be used twice a day. Simply apply a few drops to your fingers and smooth over the face and allow a few minutes for the product to absorb before moving onto your next step. I find this product spreads very easily so you only need a few drops. This serum can also be combined with other actives like vitamin c, retinol and aha’s for even more anti-aging power.

For a product that claims to be a replacement for botox and fillers, you’re probably wondering what is in Drmtlgy Needleless serum that can live up to that claim?

What do these ingredients do exactly? Some of them are stabilizers, preservatives, etc. so they won’t actually have any skin benefit. So let’s take a look at the active ingredients in this serum.
- Palmitoyl Tripeptides – helps to reduce the signs of aging by diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, stimulates collagen and elastin to help with skin elasticity and firmness
- Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate – Similar to hyaluronic acid, it helps to bind water which has an immediate hydrating effect, keeping skin plump and glowing.
- Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) – helps skin to retain moisture (water) which keeps it plump, hydrated and glowing. It’s also a key component to collagen production so it’s great for anti-aging.
- Pea Extract – acts as an antioxidant to help prevent environmental damage, protect skin from free radical damage and help with anti-aging.
- Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf & Stem Extract – popular in Asian medicine for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and soothing properties.
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) – a do-it-all ingredient that’s been shown to help with hyperpigmentation, large pores, oily skin, acne, irritation and dry skin.
- Panthenol (Vitamin B5) – acts as a humectant to help attract and lock in hydration.
- Copper Peptides – stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, and also act as an antioxidant to help protect skin from damage.
- Glycosaminoglycans – help to maintain the skin’s structural proteins like collagen and elastin.
- Glucosamine HCl – helps to replenish skin hydration and also has soothing properties to calm down any irritation.
- Ceramide EOP, AP & NP – help to keep the skin barrier strong to lock in moisture and defend the skin against pathogens and other irritants
- Cholesterol – a lipid that’s found naturally in the skin and is responsible for keeping skin moisturized and keeping the skin barrier strong
- Phytosphingosine – a multi-benefit ingredient that helps keep the skin’s protective barrier strong.
- Vitamin E – an antioxidant that is incredibly nourishing to help defend the skin against damage while moisturizing and strengthening the skin’s barrier
With these ingredients, this serum can certainly live up to its claims to fight fine lines, hydrate skin and leave it glowing. As you can see, there are a ton of hydrating and anti-aging ingredients in this serum, so the formulation is great and you know you are getting effective ingredients with this serum. There’s also a ton of ingredients that help keep the skin barrier strong, which is essential for healthy skin!
Not only does a healthy skin barrier improve the look of skin, but it can also help prevent aging.
Honestly, this is a great ingredients list. Effective ingredients and nothing bad in here for the skin at all. So far, the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum is looking pretty dang good.
Does Drmtlgy Needle-less Serum Work?
How well the Drmtlgy Needleless serum will work completely depends on your skin. This serum is mainly for those that struggle with dehydrated skin, faint lines around the eyes, mouth or forehead and those who want to prevent aging.
If you have deep wrinkles, then this serum will not help those. However, if you have faint lines (think expression lines) then the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum is a great option to help get rid of those and prevent more from forming.
As for its claim as an alternative to botox and filler, well, that’s a bit more complicated. Botox works by essentially paralyzing the muscles so they don’t move. Wrinkles and fine lines happen because of muscle movement. Think raising your eyebrows when you’re surprised, smile lines, etc. Botox will prevent those muscles from moving as much, so the lines relax and can actually disappear.
As for filler, fillers help to add volume to places with lost volume. Most commonly you have heard of fillers for lips, but fillers can be used to add volume back to hollow cheeks or under eyes. Volume loss is a natural part of aging and fillers help to restore that volume.
Can the Drmtlgy Needleless Serum help replace fillers and Botox? No, it can’t. However, It is a great addition to an anti-aging skincare routine. This serum cannot paralyze muscles or restore volume in the way botox and fillers can. It can help plump skin and diminish fine lines, which is similar to what botox and fillers do, just on a smaller scale.
Drmtlgy Needle-less Serum Review: My Thoughts
Ingredients
As far as anti-aging serums go, this is definitely the best ingredients list I have seen in a serum in a very long time. Many serums are packed with irritating or filler ingredients, but this Needle-less serum has all of the good and none of the bad.
The peptides and amino acids target any and every sign of aging to reverse and prevent fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. Barrier repairing ingredients help to keep the skin barrier strong and healthy. Hydrating and soothing ingredients to help keep skin soft, smooth and glowing. This serum truly has everything you could never need and want in a serum!
Packaging
The serum is packaged in a glass amber bottle with a dropper lid. I personally find the packaging to be simple yet luxurious. It reminds me a lot of the pricey Skinceuticals products! The dropper itself is easy to use and dispenses the perfect amount of product for one application of the serum.
Price
The serum retails for $69 for 1oz, which is comparable to other anti-aging serums on the market. Although it’s much cheaper than others like Skinceuticals. Although it’s pricey, it’s totally worth it! Plus, Drmtlgy often runs sales so you can get a good deal on this serum and their other products.
Performance
This serum has quickly become one of my absolute must-have products! It leaves my skin feeling plump and hydrated and it’s given my skin the prettiest glow! After almost 2 years of use, I can say that this serum has really helped fade fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and forehead.
I also think that it’s help minimized my pores and overall brighten my skin. I certainly will keep repurchasing this serum for years and years to come.
Overall Thoughts
I’ve been using the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum for a couple months now and it’s quickly become one of my favorite products. It’s replaced my hyaluronic acid serum + other anti-aging serums which is nice. I’m all about a simple skincare routine!
So does it work? Absolutely! Since I’ve been using this serum, my skin is so much more plump and hydrated. And the glow? I can’t even begin to describe the glow it gives my skin! I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis, but this serum always makes my skin look healthy and radiant!
As far as anti-aging goes, I definitely think this serum helps with fine lines. Even though I’m young, I’ve started to get crows feet and this serum has certainly helped diminish those. I do get botox on my forehead so I don’t have any issues with expression lines because of that.
Although I mainly use this serum for preventative anti-aging purposes, the ingredients in the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum can certainly help with those who are struggling with fine lines. Since I’ve been using this serum, my skin looks so much healthier and smoother.
As soon as I apply it, my skin looks tighter and my pores even look smaller! It’s amazing. I really wish I had taken before and after photos.
January 2023 Update
I wanted to make a little update on this Drmtlgy review since writing this review in 2021. I have been using this serum since I purchased in early 2021 and it’s truly become one of my must-have favorite products. Since it is an anti-aging serum, it takes a while to notice all of the benefits. However, now that I’ve been using this product for about 2 years now, my skin has never looked better.
My skin looks plumper and firmer and my fine lines have diminished. I also like to use this serum around my eyes and I think it’s helped brighten up dark circles, plump the skin and smooth fine lines and crows feet.
I also love that it helps keep my skin barrier strong, which is much-needed for my sensitive skin. I’ve not experienced any negative side effects or skin issues in the 2 years of using this product.
Drmtlgy: Is it really worth buying?
Although the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum is a little expensive, I find that it’s completely worth it. The texture of this serum is so luxurious and you really only need about 3 drops for your whole face, as opposed to the 5-6 the bottle recommends. Since I’ve been using this serum, along with the Drmtlgy vitamin c, my skin is glowing. Even right after I wash my face, without any other products on.
Is the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum worth buying for you? I would say if you are looking for a great anti-aging serum to help prevent aging or to target fine lines, then yes! Peptides are truly one of the best ingredients you can use as far as anti-aging goes and this serum is much less expensive than a lot of the other peptide serums out there.
Who Should Use The Drmtgly Needle-less Serum?
The Drmtlgy Needle-less serum is suitable for all skin types and truly all ages. It’s a great anti-aging serum that anyone can benefit from. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s best to start early! This serum is a great choice for those who want to prevent signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles and collagen loss. It’s also a great choice for those who are starting to see signs of aging, as this serum can help reverse those.
The serum should not be used by anyone expecting this to replace botox and fillers, but it’s a great product to go along with those.
How Do You Use Drmtlgy Needle-less Serum?
To use the Drmtlgy Needle-less serum, you simply need to apply it to clean, dry skin. I like to use it at night before bed, but you can also use it in the morning if you prefer. You don’t need to use a lot – a little goes a long way. I just put a few drops on my fingertips and then smooth it over my face, neck, and chest.
- Cleanse skin with a gentle cleanser
- Apply 2-3 drops of the Needle-less serum and gently work the product into the skin
- Continue with your regular skincare products like other serums, moisturizers, oils, etc.

The Drmtlgy Needle-less serum can be used 2x daily, morning and night and it pairs well with other products like vitamin c, retinol, aha’s and bha’s so you don’t have to worry about mixing ingredients together that shouldn’t be mixed.
Can You Use The Drmtlgy Needleless Serum Under Eyes?
Yes! The Drmtlgy Needleless serum can be used under the eyes and around the eye area to target signs of aging such as crows feet, fine lines, and dark circles. I personally love to use it underneath my eyes both morning and night. It instantly plumps the skin which helps to smooth fine lines.

However, if you have deep wrinkles or lines, your best bet is to use something stronger like tretinoin, lasers, microneedling, botox etc. but this serum can still be used as a preventative measure. I am keeping this serum in my skincare routine for its incredible anti-aging benefits. Plus it helps keep my skin barrier strong, which is never a bad thing! I am also using the Vitamin C serum, which has quickly become another favorite. All in all, I am very impressed with Drmtlgy Needle-less serum and can’t wait to try more from the brand.
Although this serum is targeted more towards anti-aging, it can be used for anyone and any skin type. If you’re looking for a good hydrating serum then this is a great option! I also love how it makes my pores look smaller, so if you have large pores, then it’s definitely worth checking out!
Althought it’s not a complete alternative to botox, it’s a great preventative aging serum with tons of incredible ingredients. Plus, as some who does get preventative botox, I think this serum makes it last a little bit longer, which is saving me money in the meantime!
